Kathy S. Heustess, Chief Executive Officer, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Francis Marion University and is a certified public accountant in the state of South Carolina. She is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Mrs. Heustess’ career in the Farm Credit System began in 1989 ranging from management of accounting, reporting, operations, credit, marketing, information management and human resources, and she has held the positions of Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer prior to being named President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2012. Additionally, Mrs. Heustess serves on a local university foundations board; and the Farm Credit Council Services board and chairs its’ compensation committee.
Richard O. Pitts, Chief Lending Officer, holds a Bachelor and Master of Science Degree in Agricultural & Applied Economics from Clemson University. While in college, Richard was awarded both a State and National Honorary FFA Degree for his work with the FFA programs. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University; South Eastern Agricultural Lenders School (SEALS); and Leadership Development Program I graduate through Farm Credit Council Services. Mr. Pitts’ career in the Farm Credit System began in 2002 during which he has acquired a wide range of experience in all areas of credit having held the positions of Credit Analyst, Managing Director of Capital Markets and Credit Administrator before being named Chief Lending Officer in November 2008.
Tammy G. Smith, Chief Financial Officer, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Francis Marion University and a Masters of Accountancy from University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of the SC Banking School. Mrs. Smith’s career in the Farm Credit System began in 1991 during which time she has gained experience ranging from management of accounting, reporting, operations, and information management. She has acquired a wide range of accounting experience in both government and private business along with auditing knowledge before coming to Farm Credit. Tammy served as Controller before being named Chief Financial Officer in January 2009.
Sarah H. Jackson, Chief Human Resources Officer, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Francis Marion University and a Master of Science in Finance from Indiana University. Mrs. Jackson is also a graduate of the South Eastern Agricultural Lenders School (SEALS) and holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification. Prior to college, Sarah served in the United States Army, including a deployment to Bosnia. Mrs. Jackson’s career in the Farm Credit System began in 2006 during which she has acquired a wide range of experience throughout the Association having held the positions of Financial Analyst, Commercial Credit Analyst, Human Resources Manager and Director of Human Resources before being named Chief Human Resources Officer in January 2018.
